For me according to my fitness tracker which is super accurate i burn about 36 calories per hour more when i m awake on the couch vs when i m asleep.

Yes you do have a significantly higher energy expenditure when you are awake and lying still than when you are asleep. When you are awake even when trying to rest or be completely motionless you will still more likely move a little more than actual sleep and burn just a little more not much but a little.
