If they are asking you something important or trying to make plans and you don t. If you completely ignore every message they send then it s a different story and very rude. It depends on how long you have waited for a reply. For example yesterday someone said they would send me a text they did i responded and i still haven t heard back from them for at least 24 hours.
I think not responding is rude. My friend s mother and i disagree and i am wondering what other people think. Sometimes they don t respond at all or they will respond the next time and still not answer the question that i asked. 10 minutes maybe there were away from their phone while they nipped to the toilet.
It isn t rude to read and not reply directly. 30 minutes maybe there were busy right a. If people are friends with you they have no reason to get frustrated when you don t reply to useless text messages. If the people you text message are understanding people they won t think you re rude for responding to a text later.

For me it not only seems a little rude not to reply but also awkward as well. But when you send a message to someone who you know has a contract phone and they do not respond i find that so bloody rude.
