They are a fad that will pass though they are indeed lovely in many contexts. Our house built in 1929 has oak floors in a medium stain and original white trim throughout. Yes they can do a white wall paint but i very much believe that it would look a lot better to get rid of most if not all of the wood trim. Btw oak floors with white trim is a classic combination.
