We should absolutely scrap it.

It is long past time to get rid of the electoral college. This is not a new claim. The electoral college is actually genius in that it brings all states including the smaller ones into play campaigning is much different the electoral college is not actually genius and it. It would take a miracle.

But that s not an argument for getting rid of the electoral college nor does it address the reasons people are mistakenly focusing on it. The rest of us can stay home because those areas have enough votes to do the job. How do we get rid of the electoral college forever. Yes voting is such an inconvenience.

The first problem with its elimination is purely pragmatic. Will we ever get rid of the electoral college system. In 2012 donald trump tweeted the electoral college is a disaster for democracy after winning an electoral college majority in 2016 he sang a new tune. There is only one way that i know of amend the constitution though i think that would be a mistake given that the college is an integral part of governmental checks and balances.
