When Should I Start Studying For The Lsat
Olivia Luz
If you are following a six month study program you should study for the lsat for at least 10 hours a week.
Another thing to think of on top of when to begin studying for the lsat is when to take the test. I spent a total of 12 months studying full time totaling around 1 000 hours. And as of may 2020 the lsac has been administering lsat flex which is an at home remotely proctored version of the exam. Is it okay to take the lsat multiple times.
When to take the lsat flex in 2020. Starting in mid 2018 there will be seven test dates annually. In short the best time to start studying for the lsat is right now seeing as your future in the legal profession very realistically depends on your scores. I would suggest the summer before you want to start applying to law schools.
I think studying depends on how much time you re devoting to it. My score increase from my cold diagnostic was greater than most students should expect. And achieving this score increase took me a great deal of time. In response to covid 19 the lsat exam s in person testing offerings have been cancelled for a number of dates.

When can you take the lsat. Stay on top of test date changes. I recommend taking your first lsat in the spring or summer so you have ample time to retake if you want to. We mentioned above that taking the lsat multiple times may not be a good look on your law school application.
I know that five months of preparation is asking a lot and everybody s situation is different. If you are following a three to six month study program you should study for the lsat for about 13 hours a week. If i had to guess i d say i m in the 99 th percentile for the total amount of time i spent studying for the lsat. For most people this means that you should start thinking about the lsat in your third year as an undergraduate student.
