Thick white discharge is one of the common signs that your period is coming tomorrow or two days after.
Around your period it may be brown or pink this is sometimes called spotting your vaginal discharge changes throughout your menstrual cycle. Discharge increases in the middle of your menstrual cycle around day 14 as your body prepares to release an egg from the ovary. If you are not getting enough in your diet you need to get it through supplements. But if pregnant the cervix will produce excessive milky or creamy white discharge due to the rising level of estrogen and progesterone hormone.
As ovulation nears your discharge may become wetter clearer. The white discharge that you are experiencing is only caused from congestion of your pelvis which is why the white discharge is really just mucus. Is it normal to discharge a lot before its time for your period. The change that occurs to the vaginal discharge is usually due to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle.
The white discharge before your period is mainly from the uterus and cervix but is not a beginning of an infection. However some types of discharge indicate an underlying condition. As a period approaches the discharge may have a glue like consistency again. Vaginal discharge is a normal part of the menstrual cycle and color and consistency change throughout the month.

The first day of your period is considered day 1. It also appears in low quantity because the level of estrogen hormone is low before your period. You do not have to give it up entirely but limit it. I usually don t have much discharge a week before my period starts.
After ovulation has occurred and before you attend your period the vaginal discharge is also usually thick white. The cervical mucus before menstruation is usually thick and pasty. The discharge may look cloudy at first then become thicker. It s filled with fluid and cells that are being shed from your vagina and it may even look slightly yellow at times.
Discharge can look clear white or slightly yellow especially when it dries on underwear.
