Is A Cell Membrane In A Plant Or Animal Cell Or Both
Camila Farah
Cell membranes are found in both animal and plant cells.
Animal cells and plant cells share the common components of a nucleus cytoplasm mitochondria and a cell membrane. Animal cell similarities cell type. It is the outside rigid layer that protects the cell is a cell membrane a plant cell or animal cell or both. The function of the mitochondria in both plant and animal cells is to produce energy for the cell via atp production as part of the krebs cycle.
However plant cells contain a number of extracellular components not found in animal cells. The cell membrane also serves as an anchor point for the cytoskeleton of the cell in some organisms and it attaches to the cell wall in plant cells. As is the case with animal cells the cell membrane in plants is a lipid bilayer. On the other hand the animal cells only have a cell membrane.
It is present in both cell types. Plant cells do not typically contain centrioles. Animal cells have desmosomes. In plants the cell membrane is located between the cell cytoplasm and the cell wall.

Both plant and animal cells are eukaryotic in nature having a well defined membrane bound nucleus. A cell membrane is in both animal and plant cells. Plant cells have mitochondria but fewer in number. Plant cells on the other hand are typically square or rectangular in structure as they are bounded by a rigid cell wall in addition to a plasma membrane.
Animal cells and plant cells share the common components of a nucleus cytoplasm mitochondria and a cell membrane. Animal cells have a large number of mitochondria. Animal cells have a flexible thin plasma membrane. Animal cells are enclosed by a plasma membrane which is flexible allowing animal cells to take on a number of shapes based on the requirements of that specific cell.
Because it does not have a hard cell wall animal cells vary in shape. In both animal and plant cell. They are composed of a phospholipid bilayer which is responsible for controlling what can come into and out of the cell. Animal cells contain these cylindrical structures that organize the assembly of microtubules during cell division.
