Should I Go To The Funeral Or Visitation
Camila Farah

The body is present at this time for people to pay their respects and offer condolences to loved ones of the deceased.
You would attend the visitation. Today i do not want to go to the funeral because it is so much sadder than the visitation. I went to the visitation to show my respect to the family. Last night a friend of mine from highschool had a visitation for his funeral today they will have the actual funeral.
In other circumstances there may be unresolved conflict in the family as well. A wake also known as a visitation typically occurs before the funeral takes place. Keep in mind that funerals are for the living. In fact if you don t go your presence may be missed.
Generally speaking the public is invited to attend the wake even if there s no personal relationship with the family. And the answer is in general do what feels most comfortable to you. It is never a good idea to go to the visitation or the funeral if you intend to have a confrontation. Unless the family wants the funeral or memorial service to be private you are welcome to attend.
